CCTV Drainage Surveys
We use our CCTV drain cameras on all our drain unblocks as there is often a reason why a drain has blocked and we feel it is our duty to notify the customer of that reason.
CCTV drain cameras will identify issues in drains such as:
- Root ingress
- Cracked pipes
- Collapsed pipes
- Deformed or blistered pitch fibre pipe work
- Attatched deposits in pipes such as FOGs and scale
- Settled deposits in pipes such as silt
- Foreign objects in pipes such as lost drain rods
- Can find the cause of subsidence issues or rodent infestation
You may want to have a full CCTV drainage survey at your property or commercial premises for a number of reasons including:
- Homebuyers drain survey
- Mapping of drainage systems
- Build over drain survey
- Persistent blockages in drains
- Pre tenancy condition report or drain survey

Did you know?
A typical RICS survey does not include a cctv Drainage survey and would not be requested unless there are obvious issues
e.g. blocked drains or visible subsidence yet we believe it is a critical part of the surveying process. Just because the drainage system is out of sight it should not be out of mind.
Common problems in underground Drainage systems include:
Damaged pipework which can lead to blockages and rodent infestation
Root ingress, causing blockages and further damage to pipe if not dealt with
Pitch fire pipes – pipe made from natural fibres and tar, commonly used in the 50s and 60s, which blisters and deforms over time.
A CCTV Drainage survey of the property will give you a detailed inspection report of the pipework, a Drainage plan of the property and information on ownership of the Drainage system.
All important information when making, for most people, the biggest investment of their life!
